Usluel Group started its activities for power generation in 2006. Usluel Group aims to realize and develop its portfolio of 130 MW rated capacity with its five power generation companies.

Usluel Group actual portfolio consists of hydropower plants. Usluel Group plans to diversify its portfolio with projects using other renewable energy resources.

The first power plants of Usluel Group will start generation in the first quarter of 2009. Usluel Group targets exceeding 250 MW rated power by the year 2013.

The energy projects of Usluel Group are assessed according to the sustainability criteria from the first stages of development. The Sustainability Guidelines of International Hydropower Association (IHA) form the basis for this assessment. Hydropower is a domestic and renewable source of energy that helps improve energy security. The greenhouse gases emission is very small compared to conventional energy sources during the life cycle of a hydropower facility. Hydropower presents additional benefits like flood protection, flow regulation and recreational amenities. In that context, hydropower is an important tool for sustainable development.
